When you donate to the Missionary Housing Ministry Partner Grant you help to provide stability and sustainability so that full-time missionaries Willy, Sofia, Daniela and Valeria Menendez can continue their transformational work of intercession, worship, discipleship, pastoral care and medical care in Antigua, Guatemala. This grant covers the cost of housing, phone service, internet services and electricity for Familia Menendez.

This grant meets the following criteria as outlined in the Alabaster Foundation Criteria for Ministry Partnership:

  • Familia Menendez is actively working to expand the Kingdom of God through the activities and daily discipleship of all of the team members they manage across a variety of ministries. 

  • Familia Menedez has dedicated their lives to interceding for the world, especially nations who are unreached with the gospel.

  • The Menendez family are full-time missionaries living and serving in Guatemala.

  • Familia Menedez is serving under the leadership and oversight of an established church in Guatemala and has a fundraising account with a third party missionary accountant based in the USA.

Our Goal is to raise $12,320 to fund the monthly cost of housing and utilities from November 2023 - December 2024 for Familia Menendez.

At the current exchange rate of approximately 7.8315 (Guatemala Quetzal) to $1 (USD) equating to about $880 (USD) per month.

How They Serve.

  • Medical Care

    Willy and Sofia are licensed, physicians in Guatemala. In partnership with Healing Nations, they conduct weekly medical appointments, giving them a consistent opportunity to evangelize and reach further into their community. During each appointment they pray for, provide Biblical counsel and disciple each patient.

  • Prayer House

    Familia Menendez lead a Prayer House in Antigua, Guatemala where they lead worship and equip others to intercede and worship with the Word.

  • Missionary Training

    At the Prayer House they also train visiting missionaries how to lead and open their own houses of prayer in their home countries. Every week they also travel to a nearby community to lead a night of worship at Adventures In Missions base for young missionaries.

  • Intercession

    Every week, Willy and Sofia intentionally intercede for Israel at the Prayer House. While this is a key focus, the two of them pray with scripture for the nations, especially those unreached with the gospel.

    Discipleship

    Wednesday’s of each week are dedicated for discipleship. Familia Menendez hosts a men’s Bible study, a women’s Bible study. These groups are filled with individuals who desire to grow with the Lord and their times are rich with conversation, Biblical knowledge and counsel.

  • Local Church Leadership

    Willy and Sofia passionately invest into the local church. At their home church, Willy serves on the Eldership Group and as an Associate Pastor. Further, Willy and Sofia serve together as the worship leaders for the congregation.

  • Reaching The Middle East

    The Lord has clearly called Willy and Sofia to minister in the Middle East to Muslims and Jews. God has given them a vision for training missionaries who will sustain houses of prayer throughout the Middle East. They have served in Turkey and Israel and are awaiting for the Lord’s leading for their next mission in the region.

Vision For The Middle East

We have a vision to move to the Middle East whenever the Lord says “go now”. 

Our heart for Muslims and Jews has grown so much in the past few years. Our passion to serve these groups has led us to realize our vision for training missionaries who will sustain prayer houses in the Middle East. We want to open many houses of prayer that the land in the Middle East is continually covered in prayer and so we can have a personal connection point into the nations the Lord has chosen.

Our dream is to see many missionaries go to these unreached areas so that the Gospel can open the eyes of Muslims and so they can love Jesus. We feel called to serve as a “bridge” between Muslims and Jews. We know that the Lord has called to us unite Arabs and Jews. We intentionally contend in intercession for this ask the Lord to position us as a channel of reconcilliation by His Spirit.

Many of these nations do not permit missionaries. However, we know our gift of providing medicine and care can be used as a “key” to enter countries in the Middle East where we otherwise would not be welcomed. We have thought and prayed through the idea of entering countries as doctors in order to help people who are in need and to bring Jesus to them.

We don’t know when the Lord will ask us to move, but we want to be ready when the time comes.
